Who it’s for

  • Those of us who may not be aiming for a 50 or a 40+ but still want plenty of tailored support to achieve our personal best.

What it offers

Just like the Academy program:

  • 2 hours of my high-quality live tutoring per week
  • Detailed weekly feedback for all my assigned tasks, guaranteed, regardless of submission date. Plus additional feedback for extra practice (e.g. practice SACs) pending my availability.
  • Access outside of sessions via DMs for any question.
  • Ability to schedule a free 1:1 session with me during a set weekly window I call my “office hours”.
  • Boutique tutoring experience with small class sizes. Everyone gets personalised attention.

A foundations program for your school?

  • Do you want to sign up with some classmates?
  • If there are enough of you, we could explore a private Foundations class exclusive to students from your school.
  • This gives us the opportunity to explicitly focus on your school’s SACs during sessions (otherwise, the ins and outs of your school’s SACs are largely dealt with outside of formal classes), and benefit from the camaraderie of your classmates.

Summer school or full year?

  • If full-year tutoring isn’t for you, for financial or other reasons, you can participate as a “Summer School” student to get a head start.
  • Yes, you can join after classes have commenced. We will figure out a plan to ensure you catch up.

What you see is what you get

By the way, everything is covered within the package you pay for. I do not charge additional costs or require five-star reviews for further classes covering essential content and techniques.

How is this different from the Academy program?

The Foundations program feels gentle and encouraging rather than intense. It has much steadier pacing, spending much longer on each concept and technique. The focus is on ensuring every student ‘gets it’ and is confident, rather than pushing you as much as I can. This is not to say it is not a rigorous examination of the course, but that we move in small incremental steps, and I am a guide every step of the way.

The workload is much less – it’s mainly about consolidating what we’ve learned that week.

We may be less likely to dwell on the hardest VCAA essay prompt on the exam in a given year, because we probably wouldn’t choose that question.
